From July 16-18, 2024, the Faculty of Theology at Duta Wacana Christian University (UKDW) held its annual Work Meeting (RaKer) at Kalyana Resort Kaliurang. This event served as an important moment for coordinating the academic and operational processes of the faculty for the upcoming year.

The meeting commenced with a reflection based on Jeremiah 10 and an opening address by the Dean of the Faculty of Theology, Prof. Robert Setio, Ph.D., who emphasized the importance of synergy and coordination in enhancing the quality of education within the Faculty.

On the first day, student representatives from each program were invited to provide feedback on academic and operational processes. The attendees included Eky Zupaldry, representing the Undergraduate Program; Rahyuni Daud Pori, representing the Master’s Program; and Rev. Dinka Nehemia Utomo, representing the Doctoral Program. Following the student feedback session, the Dean’s Office and the Study Centers presented their reports. Dr. Wahyu Nugroho, M.A., reported on the financial condition of the Faculty as Vice Dean 2 and also provided an update from the Center for the Study of Religions (PSAA). Dr. Asnath Niwa Natar, M.Th., reported from the Center for Feminist Theology Studies (PSTF); Dra. Endah Setyowati, M.Si., M.A., from the Center for Peace Development Studies (PSPP); and August Corneles Tamawiwy, MST, from the Adhoc Team (Public Relations and Archival Teams) discussed their progress and work plans.

Hehanussa, M.Th., from the Gema Teologika journal; Daniel K. Listijabudi, Ph.D., from the Aradha journal; and Adhika Tri Subowo, M.Fil., from the Wacana Teologika journal. There were also further discussions on each field and various other important topics. The Dean of the Faculty of Theology outlined the faculty’s development plans, while Vice Dean 3, Dr. Frans Manurung, M.Th., discussed promotion strategies and new student admissions (PMB). Vice Dean 1, Handi Hadiwitanto, Ph.D., presented plans for research and community service (PkM), as well as the operational plan for 2025. Additionally, the second day provided an opportunity for faculty members on study assignments (Jeniffer F. P. Pelupessy-Wowor, M.A., Rena Sesaria Yudhita, M.Th., and Hendri Mulyana Sendjaja, M.Hum., Lic.Th.) to report on their study progress.

On the third day, a senate meeting was held for decision ratification, led by Prof. Yahya Wijaya, Ph.D., and was concluded with discussions on important matters outside the work meeting agenda. In addition to the serious conduct of the meeting, faculty members also took advantage of the opportunity to enjoy the ambiance of Kalyana Resort. Some faculty members swam in the mornings or evenings, took morning walks, enjoyed local cuisine around Kaliurang, and even gathered for coffee breaks.

This work meeting was not only productive but also enjoyable, strengthening relationships among faculty members and providing renewed enthusiasm for the upcoming academic year. The Faculty of Theology at UKDW is committed to continuously improving the quality of education and service for a better future.
